The Central Star Forming Regions of NGC 2403
Abstract
We analyze a total of 180ks of Chandra archived data on a nearby spiral galaxy, NGC 2403. The bright star-forming regions in the central part of the galaxy are also sources of X-ray diffuse emission. The diffuse X-ray emission follows the H-alpha morphlogy. Five of thirty-five optically-identified supernova remnants are detected in the Chandra image, but are not spatially correlated with the X-ray diffuse emission structure. We present the X-ray properties of the HII regions and SNRs and investigate the nature of the diffuse emission.
